Preventative
Dental Care
Prevention
is the first line of defense. This
includes a good daily oral hygiene
routine at home. During a regular
cleaning, our dental hygienist will
remove the hardened deposits with
special tools or an ultrasonic machine.
After your teeth are cleaned, they
may polish with a mild compound that
is applied with a spray or rotating
cup. Professional cleanings help remove
stain and plaque that brushing alone
makes difficult.
If
it’s been over six months since
your last check-up, call us today
at (704) 624-6300 to schedule a cleaning
appointment.
The
American Dental Association (ADA)
recommends the following for good
oral health )
• Brush twice
a day with a fluoride toothpaste.
• Floss your teeth daily.
• Eat nutritious meals and snacks.
• Visit your dentist regularly
for professional cleanings and exams.
• Talk to your dentist about
fluoride treatments and dental sealants.
• Replace your toothbrush every
three to four months (or sooner, if
the bristles become worn).
